There's only a couple weeks til the abstract deadline, but if anyone
would like an excuse to come up to Alaska this spring, we're having our
annual grad-student-run Pacific Rim Conference on English Studies up
here in April. Most of the papers presented there have historically
dealt with literary theory and rhetoric, but they're actively trying to
get more from the linguistics and creative writing areas that our
department also covers—so as long as it deals with English, it's
welcome! (And even more so if it deals somehow with colonialism, the
theme of the conference this year.)
Anyway, the main details: The conference is in Anchorage, Alaska 19–20
April, abstract deadline 8 February. Abstracts should be 350–500 words.
