Well, Doug, me too with the typing fingers, esp on phones.
Re the (dis)connectedness, I am seeking to write some haiku along the lines
suggested by Harold G Henderson in Haiku in English, 1967. He notes that in
both the Japanese and American efforts, there is usually some sort of ‘cut
marker’ which might be anything from an ‘M-dash’ to ellipses or some other
punctuation. I am also trying to stick with the requirement to include just
one verb, two images, three lines. Syllables irrelevant in English.
Our house overlooks or ‘backs onto’ Doctor’s Gully, deepened by gold mining
up until as recently as 1922 but now a wild zone, peppered with blackwoods,
koala-studded manna gums and huge candlebarks, eucalyptd so-called because
of the strips of bark which unravel from the trunk annually and provide
ample fuel for fire. At which point one may well have need to call for the
doctor.
