Newcastle College School of Education is looking for new External Examiners for initial teacher education (ITE) programmes for the further education sector. We welcome applications from colleagues working in college-based higher education.
We are seeking candidates whose expertise enables them to monitor the quality of level 5 Foundation Degree and level 7 PGCE courses and externally moderate assessed work. External examiners will comment on samples of marked work, undertake a yearly visit to Newcastle College in March or June where they will meet a group of trainee teachers, attend an examination board and submit a yearly report.
We are seeking to appoint examiners for the following general and specialist ITE courses:
• Foundation Degree in Education and Training (level 5)
• Foundation Degree in Education and Training for English, Literacy and Language Specialists (level 5)
• PGCE for English, Literacy and Language Specialists (level 7)
• Foundation Degree in Education and Training for Specialists in Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (level 5)
• PGCE for Specialists in Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (level 7)
Applicants may apply to examine one or more programmes. These posts will commence as soon as possible and are normally for a period of four years.
