Dear All,
I am writing to ask members of the list for advice regarding the publication of an illustrated children’s book about poverty in Southern Bangladesh. As part of our PACONDAA research project on poverty and aquaculture (https://www.swansea.ac.uk/cmpr/pacondaa) we have utilised a number of creative approaches for disadvantaged people in Southern Bangladesh to share their stories (see a short film here bit.ly/2wLnGzr.) One of these approaches is a storybook, co-produced with Bangladeshi children and Canadian artists, featuring three stories told by the children.
Our plan is to publish these story books as an educational resource about poverty and life challenges in Asian aquaculture communities. The finished books will be returned to their creative authors in Bangladesh to show them that their stories are important and are being shared across a wide audience.
Has anybody on the list had experience in publishing books or resources of this nature before? Does anybody know of any publishers in particular who would be interested in working with us on this? Any practical advice would be highly appreciated.
Thanks for your time,
Dr. Will Andrews
