Dear all
The Centre for the History of Science, Technology and Medicine is
organising a one-day meeting to celebrate the life and work of our
colleague Dr Jeff Hughes (1965-2018), to be held in Manchester on Friday
22 February.
The meeting will include talks on current research in several of the
many areas Jeff addressed during his career, and short personal
recollections from those who knew him as a colleague, mentor, teacher,
or friend. We are still working on the schedule, but speakers expected
include Jon Agar, Sally Horrocks, Mats Fridlund, Nestor Herran,
Dominique Pestre, Xavier Roque, and Simon Schaffer. The event will be
free to attend, and will be followed by an informal social gathering.
Full details including venue will follow in the New Year. Please
circulate the scheduling details so that as many of Jeff's friends and
colleagues as possible can arrange to attend.
On behalf of CHSTM, best wishes for the festive season,
James Sumner and Simone Turchetti
