Hi,
I have seen similar reports on CCPEM but could not reproduce
the issue locally.
Does it happen only on this dataset, or also on our tutorial dataset?

This is very strange, because your movies are in MRC, not SPIDER format.

MotionCorr/job002/Movies/SFXN-1_1-31kx-e55-03_1587.mrc

maxval= 18.5656
This is an aligned, summed micrograph.
What is the result of relion_image_handler on the raw movies?
Please try RELION's own motion correction on several of them and see
if the result looks fine to see if RELION can really handle the
input movie format. (MODE 2 MRC should be OK but there might be some
'local' dialects).
