Dear Maria
Sorry this caused you trouble. This was indeed an issue with the PEB batch in SPM12 / DCM12. A new release of SPM/DCM is coming within days, which has this fix included. Three options - 1) search the mailing list for a recent conversation where I attached the necessary files to fix this - let me know if you can't find it 2) wait for the next release of SPM, or 3) use the scripting interface rather than the batch to estimate the GCM (see https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/SPM/Parametric_Empirical_Bayes_(PEB) ).
Best
Peter

Subject: [SPM] DCM PEB estimated parameters not saved
I have used DCM analyses for multiple years, but I’m new to the PEB functions.
I have specified a model with 8 regions that is fully connected, and substituted VOIs and SPM.mat for individual subjects' models. When I next try to estimate (via batch gui) with the specify/estimate PEB module, the matlab command window produces the expected output (convergence steps), the CGM.mat file is correctly created, however, the individual subjects’ DCMxx.mat is not updated. Consequently, during the second level PEB I get this error:
Error using spm_cfg_dcm_peb>prepare_peb_inputs (line 587) Please estimate DCMs before second-level analysis.
I have tried the various estimation options under the PEB estimate module, but that is no good. The regular old estimation works fine.
I feel like I'm missing something very obvious, but I just can't figure it out.
I'm doing this with latest SPM12 update, Matlab R2017b, 64 bit under Windows 10, I have write permissions for folders.
Any help greatly appreciated.
