Hi Rachel
Our institution is a mix of FE and HE. Currently we only provide reading lists for our HE students, but are considering FE at some point in future. Our situation is slightly different as we already have a shared library system (Sierra) for all partner colleges, so our FE and HE students use the same libcat, discovery and eResources. One of our main challenges is identifying which books need to be ordered for each partner library, as courses tend to run at a variety of different sites depending on subject area and demand. The partner colleges do their own print book ordering and cataloguing. There’s no centralised service, apart from the eResources and systems. We hope Talis can provide some improvements to our current processes.
Sorry if my reply isn't much use. I thought I would say hello as we are a multi-site library and I’m also new to this list. We have just finished migrating from Keylinks (previously Rebus:list) and will be going live on Talis next month.
I noticed you have English and Welsh in your Talis tenancy. We hope to offer similar option in future for our Scottish Gaelic users so any advice you have on that would be appreciated. Was it just a case of translating all the headings and Talis did the rest?
Many thanks
Richard
