Dear Colleagues,
The final date to receive nominations for the IAML (UYK & Irl) Excellence Award for Music Libraries is 29th November 2018.
The aim of the Awards is to highlight and celebrate all the good work that goes on in music libraries from supporting research to providing sets of scores for choral and orchestral societies. The Awards are open to all music libraries and staff who work with music collections no matter what their sector, size or type. So whether your library is a small community library, a university or college library, a library in a school, conservatoire, orchestra or specialist society, then this Award is for YOU.
New for the 2019 Awards – Institutions which are judged to have achieved the highest standard of Excellence in all compulsory criteria will be eligible for an Excellence Award “with distinction”.
The Awards are presented every three years. Nominations will be judged by a panel of experts from music libraries, the wider library profession and music library users. We are pleased to announce that the Chair of the 2019 judging panel will be Dr Charles Inskip, Senior lecturer and Programme Director for the MA Library and Information Studies, Dept of Information Studies, University College London.
The range of music libraries is diverse: no two are alike, each reflecting and supporting its own user community, and there is much to celebrate.
Nominations for the Excellence Awards for Music Libraries close on 29 November 2018 after which a self-assessment form should be submitted by 31st January 2019.
Nominations for the Personal Achievement Award should be received by 31st January 2019.
