We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting the 11th Annual Pronunciation in Second Language Learning and Teaching (PSLLT) conference, September 12-14, 2019 at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ.
The theme for PSLLT 2019 will be 'Interdisciplinary Intersections in Pronunciation Learning and Teaching', with keynote speaker Dr. Doug Biber (Northern Arizona University).
The conference will be preceded by two workshops: (1) conducting L2 pronunciation research (by Drs. Tracey Derwing and Murray Munro) and (2) building spoken corpora (by Dr. Eric Friginal) on September 12, 2019.
On September 14, 2019, we will also have a Language Learning Roundtable discussion with the following speakers:
• Pragmatics: Naoko Taguchi, Carnegie Mellon University
• Instructed SLA: Shawn Loewen, Michigan State University
• Health Care Communication: Donald Rubin, University of Georgia

The abstract should reflect the purpose and the content of the presentation. It should make reference to a theoretical framework and show awareness of previous research in the area. It should also contain a clear description of the research methodology employed and the most important findings and implications.
Each person may submit no more than one abstract as the first author. The first author will have to register for the conference in order to be assured of a place on the programme. Doctoral students currently pursuing a PhD degree or who have just earned their degree are encouraged to submit an abstract related to their research in order to compete for the Best PhD presentation award honouring Dr. Alexander Kautzsch. For this award, students can submit proposals on any topic listed above, even if it is not closely related to Dr. Kautzsch’s research interests.

The AHRC Northern Bridge Consortium for Doctoral Training Partnership
(NBCDTP) offers tuition fees and £14,777 per annum funding for 42 months
(http://www.northernbridge.ac.uk/). Award-holders may extend their
studentship to pursue an approved research training programme or to
undertake a placement by a further 6 months, and successful applicants
can apply for additional funding during their studentship to support
their research costs and individual training needs. In addition to the
standard PhD pathway, students can apply under the collaborative
doctoral pathway, through which applicants develop a research project in
collaboration with a partner organisation, and spend a substantial
portion of their doctoral study at the partner organisation.
The ESRC Northern Ireland and North East Doctoral Training Partnership
