Dear All,
Kingston University Archives and Special Collections is very pleased to announce its latest exhibition.
'Exploring Archives: We Made, You Look' is the result of a collaborative project with some of our third-year BA Graphic Design students who were asked to create a piece of communication inspired by our collections.
Over an eight-week period involving six group sessions and several return visits, the students explored items from our Iris Murdoch Collections, Performing Arts Collections, the Wendy Perriam Archive, the Sheridan Morley Theatre Collection, the Kingston University History Archive and the Vane Ivanovic Library & Archive.
The exhibition displays works produced in a range of media which are accompanied by captions written by the students explaining the approach and aims behind their designs. Alongside this are the archival objects that inspired them. It is a vibrant and unique exhibition which we hope is only the beginning of the students' engagement with archives.
The exhibition, which is on until 17th February 2019, is located in the Archive Corridor within the University's Learning Resources Centre at our Penrhyn Road campus. Entry is free and opening times are Monday-Friday from 9:00am-5:00pm and weekends from 10:00am-5:00pm. Please do come along if you can.
More information is available on our blog, where you will also find an animated short by one of the students!
Kind regards,
Dayna
