Hello all,
'The Archivist' but which archivist? Is it you?!

Forgive the plug, but I thought colleagues might like to see the new sculpture in the garden of Gloucestershire Archives. Sculptor Natasha Houseago has created in intricately carved oak. It's called 'The Archivist' (spot the magnifying glass?) and you should be able to see it at the link above.
It features many aspects of Gloucestershire's landscape and life but also contains objects, sealed by wooden pegs into the sculpture. These include a brass paperclip and archival tape, a marble found on our site (a former school) during building work, a 1918-2018 poppy badge, some thoughts written by children visiting from the nearby primary school, and other objects of personal significance to staff, volunteers, partners and some of the other artists involved in our For the Record project.
We think it's lovely!
Best wishes,
Claire
