Dear all,
Sorry for cross posting, but I really hope that many of you will find this opportunity very useful!
Many on this list have already joined one of Spectacle’s training courses and we have always received great feedback from academics who used these new skills in their research projects.
This is to let everyone know that starting in 2019 Spectacle has decided to change its training rates. In order to help anthropologists and social researchers - who often have access to limited resources - have a cheaper option into filmmaking, we have decided to offer everyone on this list a special price.
+++Get in touch quoting “Anthro2018” and book on to one of our listed courses before the end of the year to get 20% discount off the 2018 price on all our relevant trainings (including those in 2019)+++
We have a few courses scheduled over the coming months that can greatly improve researcher’s capacity to collect data and share outcomes through the use of video:
The Weekend for Anthropologists and Social researchers (scheduled 15-16 December 2018 and 9-10 March 2019) provides participants with a solid foundation of practical knowledge: a working understanding of digital cameras, sound recording, interview techniques, filming on location and industry language.

The 4-day Filmmaking Course (14-17 January 2019 and 12-15 March 2019) guides participants through the entire digital video production and video editing process, from start to finish. Thanks to a ‘faux client’ brief we cover planning, video interviews, filming on location, video editing on Adobe Premiere and delivery of a final documentary film.

The 3-day Participatory Video Workshop (12-14 December 2018 and 6-8 March 2019), goes through the whole process of setting up participatory film projects, assuming no prior technical skills, and provides a shareable induction to filmmaking and collective editing.
