We invite applications for 5 or 6 Postdoctoral Research Associates to join the new Computational Statistical Inference for Engineering and Security (CoSInES) project. This is a timely project developing new theory and methodology within Statistical Science and Scalable Computational Statistics, with particular focus on applications within the exciting new areas of Data-Centric Engineering and Defence and Security. This £3M programme led by Gareth Roberts at Warwick is funded by the EPSRC, and brings together research groups from the Universities of Lancaster, Bristol, Oxford and Warwick. A major project partner will be the Turing, in particular its programmes on Data-Centric Engineering (DCE) and Defence and Security (D&S). PDRAs will be based at one (or more) of these institutions.
More details of the CoSInES project can be found at
http://www.cosines.org
Candidates who are considering making an application are strongly encouraged to contact Professor Gareth Roberts ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>), Professor Mark Girolami ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>), Professor Christophe Andrieu ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>), Professor Paul Fearnhead ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>), Professor Arnaud Doucet ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) or Professor Judith Rousseau ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>).
The team of investigators includes the five contacts listed above as well as Mark Briers (Turing), Arnaud Doucet (Oxford), Adam Johansen (Warwick), Anthony Lee (Bristol and Turing), and Alex Mijatovic (Warwick and Turing). It is vital that we employ individuals with complementary skills covering the theoretical, methodological, computational and application-oriented aspects of the project. Some of the appointed research associates will have the opportunity to engage closely with the DCE and D&S programmes at Turing. Active collaboration across the partner institutions, and with the Turing, is expected. These positions are for up to four years, and we aim to make at least one appointment at each of the four institutions.
Further details of the posts and how to apply are available from
https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/statistics/staff/jobs_vacancies
Positions are available immediately for up to 4 years. The closing date for applications will be 4th January 2019.
