The London College of Music at The University of West London is seeking to appoint an External Examiner in Dance with immediate effect for a tenure of 4 years.
The vacancy is for courses delivered by our academic partners:
Addict Dance Academy - BA (Hons) Dance Top-up
Creative Academy - BA (Hons) Dance
Ballet Theatre UK - BA (Hons) Ballet Performance
The external examiner should have a background in many styles of dance and experience of the dance profession in a HE setting and due to the academic partnerships, experience of external examining in at least one other Higher Education Institution is desirable. The appointee should be qualified to at least Masters level and be able to comment on standards in the context of current UK Higher Education.
To avoid conflicts of interest or reciprocity, regrettably we are unable to accept applications if you:
• are a current external examiner within the University of West London or have been in the previous four years
• if you have served a four year term with us previously;
• are currently professionally involved with members of the course team;
• have been employed within the previous five years by the University or at one of its associate institutions; or
• have acted as an external Examiner or have had links with any of the 3 providers mentioned here
If appointed you will be required to provide proof of right to work in the UK and will be invited to attend an Induction session.
