John,
I implemented the CNF_PVAL wrappers for 64-bit in 2017 February, and
indeed the supplied test example worked. However, I wisely asked for
more examples to give the changes a wider workout, and some of these had
strange failures that I didn't get to the bottom of, then something with
a deadline came up... and nobody has been clamouring for it since.
So it's not in 2018A. If you have somebody who wants to debug where I
reached, I'll happily send over the source as is. Any fixes that result
in a working 64-bit ECHOMOP I can put in into my echomop-64 branch, and
merge with the trunk.
I'll have to dig up the correspondence and tests to reacquaint myself
before a fresh look might identify any errors or missing code. Despite
Martin Clayton's efforts making the code work, the source isn't well
documented and frankly isn't up to Starlink standards. IIRC there are
some clever tricks in the original code that might be undermining
matters. (Rule 49 is "Donąt write clever code".)
