Call for papers for the Guildhall School of Music & Drama/LSO creative forum: Getting it right? New music/new technologies
Keynote Speaker: Professor George Lewis, Columbia University, New York.
Convenor: Professor Julian Anderson

Submissions are invited for papers and proposals (including practical presentations, workshops, performances etc.) on the theme of New Music/New Technologies for a one day forum to be held at Milton Court Concert Hall on 20th March 2019 under the joint aegis of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and the London Symphony Orchestra.
Practical, theoretical and aesthetic issues will be examined, with a focus on the use of technology in new or recent creative work. The full diversity of musical work with technology is welcome, including notated or improvised music, site specific art and sound sculpture, and creative applications in concert hall and opera. We also encourage proposals exploring practice in communities, music being used as a tool for social mobility, cross arts projects looking at gender and sexuality, and work which engages with disabled groups.

We invite 250 word summaries for papers, practical presentations, practice-based demonstrations, performances or workshop activities, which are 15-30 minutes in length. Please also include:

•	A short biography of the proposed participants.
•	An indication of both the technologies covered and the equipment needed to deliver your proposal.
•	An indication of the approximate duration.

In our considerations we will be looking for a balanced programme and encourage proposals from non-academic practitioners, particularly those working in a community setting.

Please send abstracts and proposals to the following email address by 30th November 2018: [log in to unmask]
