TWO TENURE TRACK POSITIONS IN GEOGRAPHY AVAILABLE AT RUTGERS UNIVERSITY
Assistant Professor in Political Ecology
We seek candidates with a focus on patterns of uneven development and how they shape resource systems and users. We specifically look to hire a scholar with demonstrated commitment to in-depth fieldwork in a developing world region. We seek a candidate who emphasizes the history and political economy of resource use, and applies empirical insights to advance larger theoretical understandings of political ecology and international development. Possible areas of specialization include, but are not limited to, agro-pastoral or agro-food systems, conservation, environmental change, health and disease ecologies, land management, marine ecologies or maritime economies, resource extraction or conflict, rivers or water infrastructure, or urban political ecology.
For more information about this open position please go to: https://jobs.rutgers.edu/postings/75886
Assistant Professor in Human Geography (Race, Gender, Ethnicity, Sexuality)
We seek candidates whose teaching and research interests focus on innovative perspectives on race, gender, sexuality, and/or ethnicity. Topical sub-areas might include, for example: racial discrimination; spaces of exclusion; black, feminist, or queer geographies; immigration and (im)mobilities; liberation politics; solidarity and social movements; spaces of difference; social or environmental justice; legal geographies; and boundaries/borders. The candidate will teach courses in the field of human geography at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
For more information about this open position please go to: https://jobs.rutgers.edu/postings/75884
For both positions: Review of applications will begin on November 1, 2018.
