Dear All,
We are looking for some volunteers to help us manage the Archive Trainees Group!
The group is for those who are currently gaining experience in an archive (either in a paid position or as a volunteer), prior to starting the post-graduate professional qualification. We meet every couple of months and have had speakers on subjects such as the qualifications, working in records management, finding a job after qualification etc, as well as speakers from within the group, talking about their current roles as trainees. The meetings offer the opportunity to meet other trainees, to share experiences and also to visit another archive. The group is free to join and open to all. Further information can be found at: https://www.archives.org.uk/about/sections-interest-groups/new-professionals/news-and-events-sp-1413338083.html
We need some help with organising the meetings, managing our communications and web presence, and managing our trainees’ exchange programme. This is a great CPD opportunity, possibly for a recently qualified archivist, and a nice opportunity to help those who are at the very start of their archive careers.
If you are interested in helping, please email me – [log in to unmask]
