The Oral History Society is seeking to recruit a new trustee to fill the role of Records Data Protection Officer. The main purpose of the role is to assist the Society in dealing with the implementation of GDPR best practices.
The role will suit a candidate who has a working knowledge of relevant legislation around GDPR in relation to the activities of the charity as well as a working knowledge of small charities and their operation. It is essential for the candidate to have the ability to challenge existing practices where they are felt to contradict GDPR regulations. The role will suit someone with an understanding of records management legislation and practice for small organisations. The ability to train people associated with the Oral History Society in the regulations concerning data usage would be desirable, as would knowledge of websites and data storage.
The role is voluntary and the time commitment is flexible. Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed and the successful applicant will have access to a mentor. The role does not require applicants to be based in London.
