Subject: Please send items for 2018 AACS Newsletter - I'm preparing it from now
Dear members and friends of the Australian Association for Caribbean Studies,
Beautiful purple jacaranda blossoms are flowering again in Brisbane. This is the harbinger not only of spring, and of exams, but also of preparation for the 2018 Annual Newsletter of the AACS!
This e-mail is a call for items for the newsletter. It will provide you with information about planning, led by Ben Etherington, for our biennial conference to be held from 7-10 February 2019 at the University of Western Sydney. I am also looking forward to your e-mailing me items with your news about 2018. As you know from previous newsletters you can send any of the following, and as editor I will put them together, hopefully by mid-November:
* News about your career – publications, talks you’ve given or attended, awards you may have won, projects you’re engaged in…
* Book announcements – about any Caribbean-related books published this year (or last year if they weren’t in the 2017 newsletter), or about to be published in 2019
* Short book reviews of Caribbean-related books
* News of Caribbean-linked friends, colleagues, meetings, celebrations
* News of Caribbean networks in Australia and New Zealand
* Obituaries for any notable Caribbeanists who have left us
* Photos as attachments
* Anything else you think is appropriate
I look forward to hearing from you.
All the best, from your newsletter editor,
Anne
