Hi
We no longer allow students to trail credits - satisfactory completion of a level or stage is demonstrated by achieving the required credits. Where a student cannot progress through failing an assessment or ceasing to engage in the programme we write to the student stating that unless there is an improvement in their performance within four weeks their registration will be terminated.
Kind regards

Subject: Progression and non engagement
Dear all
I wonder if you would be prepared to share with me your regulations concerning your progression rules to the next stage when a student has not engaged in a single component /and or whole module.
So for example, assuming all other engagement requirements have been met, and the student has passed all other modules, would you still allow a student to progress to the next stage if they have failed to turn up at either sitting for an individual exam, and they had not cited any exceptional reasons?
Would you require the student to recover the module before progression is permitted or would the student be entitled to carry forward this module - subject to other progression criteria having been met.
Many thanks
Helen
