We seek outstanding and highly motivated applicants with a strong interest in affective and cognitive Neurosciences to work on a multidisciplinary project involving functional brain imaging (fMRI) and virtual reality. The goal of the project is to apply novel tools to study brain systems implicated in emotions and their components in naturalistic conditions We also have strong interests in using other (neuro-)physiological measures (EEG, eye-tracking, skin-conductance, etc.). Strong methodological skills in imaging analysis and programming are desirable.
The position is offered at the Swiss Center for Affective Sciences (http://www.affective-sciences.org/) and the Cognitive Systems section of the Department of Neuroscience, both located in the Campus Biotech (https://www.campusbiotech.ch/en/research), in the center of the city of Geneva, Switzerland.
The candidate will be integrated in the Laboratory for Neurology & Imaging of Cognition, led by Prof. Patrik Vuilleumier (https://www.unige.ch/medecine/neuf/en/research/grecherche/patrik-vuilleumier/) but he/she will also have strong links with other research groups working in signal processing and virtual reality laboratories on Campus Biotech and at EPFL (Lausanne).
The PhD project is funded for 3-4 years and the student will take part to both the Lemanic Neuroscience Doctoral School run by UNIGE, UNIL, and EPF, and the Affective Science Doctoral Program of UNIGE.
