he Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of South Carolina, US, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of Computational Polymer Chemistry, with a start date of August 16, 2019.
The Department has vigorous research and comprehensive infrastructures in macro/supramolecular sciences. The successful candidate is expected to develop a highly recognized, externally funded research program focused on understanding and predicting the dynamic behavior of macromolecules in complex environments (interfaces, surfaces, etc.) of multiphase or heterogeneous systems, such as block copolymers, supramolecular polymers, biomacromolecules, polymer/particle mixtures and adaptive or responsive polymers.
Candidates are expected to have expertise in macro/supramolecular modeling and method development for large-scale dynamic simulations and advanced data analysis. Candidates are also expected to strive for excellence in teaching of undergraduate general or organic chemistry, as well as more specialized and graduate courses.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. and postdoctoral experience in organic, polymer or computational chemistry, materials science, or polymer science and engineering or related discipline.
Candidates should be prepared to upload a CV, a cover letter, research plans, teaching interests, name and contact information, including telephone number and email, for at least three references.
Three letters of recommendation are required to be submitted via this system. Reference providers will receive an email notification based on the contact information you provide. For full consideration, complete applications must be received no later than November 1, 2018.
