Hi all,
Digital science is facilitating a global communal wiki update on 8-9 Oct to improve the coverage of women and diversity on Wikipedia - and we're looking for people to join and run editing hubs worldwide!
Wikipedia is the first to admit that they have some big gender and diversity gaps. In 2011 only 10% of wiki contributors were female and in 2018 only 17% of entries are about women. We'd like to help change that.
So, together we're going to update Wikipedia entries on subjects related to women and diversity in science, technology, art, business and more.
Anyone can participate! We’re looking for experienced editors plus those with no experience of wiki editing (just lots of enthusiasm for writing and/or fact-checking) to join existing hubs. And we're also looking for more hubs to be set up globally.

All the best,
Julia Giddings

PS. You don't need to be an expert wiki editor to get involved! Novices are very welcome.
