Dear all,
The Administrative Data Research Centre for Scotland is pleased to announce the upcoming Public Engagement training workshop delivered by Carol Porteous on 11 October 2018, between 10.30AM and 4PM.
We will cover a range of topics, suited both to beginners and to those more experienced in public involvement and engagement, including:
* terminology, funder expectations, rationales for PE in data-intensive research
* what we know about public attitudes / expectations in relation to data intensive research, and why does this make PE important.
The workshop will help your research project / team to plan a public engagement event, or to create a plan to engage with the public.
There will be time for ...
• practical exercises
• thinking about your own public engagement activities
• developing / refining your own plans for public involvement / engagement activity
• asking questions, collaborating, networking.
Meet with the ADRC-S public panel to discuss research and PE activities such as:
• their experiences over the past three years of working with researchers on data intensive research.
Hear from a researcher who has worked with the panel to improve their research.
Location: Craigmillar Room, 2nd Floor, 9 Edinburgh Bioquarter, Little France Road, EH16 4UX
Free ticketed event, lunch provided, more information here<https://www.adrcscotland-training.info/pe-workshop1.html>.
