Medical Statistician

Grade 7: £31,604 - £38,833 p.a. (pro rata for part-time)
The Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH) contains world-renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching. Based within NDPH, The Clinical Trial Service Unit (CTSU) is a major international research institute, and is one of the world’s leading centres for research into chronic diseases, such as cancer and heart disease.
As a medical statistician you will join a multidisciplinary team providing statistical support to CTSU's clinical trial and allied research programme, in particular in cardiovascular disease and renal disease. Specifically, the role will involve providing statistical analyses, preparing tables/figures and assimilating literature and contributing to presentations and publications.
To be considered you will have a good higher degree (PhD or MSc and additional relevant experience) in a numerate or computational discipline involving a substantial programming component and understanding of statistics. You will also require understanding of common statistical techniques and concepts and excellent programming skills (e.g. in SAS and/or R or equivalent).
The post is full-time (part-time considered) and fixed-term for 3 years in the first instance.
