Hi Katherine, has Chris Chaloner replied from our place? If not contact him directly. Also [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> (copied in ) applied the formula and rules that we use. We also had a rule and formula using a calculation for which we needed height in the past. If necessary I can get information on that.

Hi,
Apologies if I am behind the times and re-covering old ground here, but I would be interested to hear whether as Paediatric labs you are routinely reporting an eGFR and if so using which equation ? We use the CKD-EPI calculation for adult patients (Abbott Enzymatic Creatinine) but do not report an eGFR in patients <18 years of age. This has not been an issue for our Paediatricians, however recently Radiology have moved to using eGFR rather than creatinine for assessment of kidney function prior to contrast scans. This has resulted in us getting requests for eGFR in paediatric patients. Whilst I await a response from Radiology I thought I would see what the situation is in other labs/hospitals ?
Thanks,
Katherine
