Working on a Wellcome funded small grant project `Global Perspectives on Governing Assisted Reproductive Technologies¿. The principle investigators are Dr Lucy Frith and Professor Mari Fox (University of Liverpool) and Professor Nicky Hudson (De Montfort University).
The project will carry out pilot work to develop innovative approaches for the effective ethical governance of the rapidly expanding globalised market in assisted reproductive technologies `ARTs¿ (IVF and related techniques). Infertility is a growing global socio-medical problem and the use of ARTs is rising, particularly in low and middle-income countries (LMIC). Differential models of regulation and variation in access to ARTs across the globe have generated increased travel for reproductive purposes, creating a pressing need for establishing a global dialogue about how to approach more effective governance of ARTs.
You should have a relevant PhD and experience of conducting research at the interface of law, policy and ethics and an interest in reproductive technologies and global health. The post is available 1 September 2018 until 31 August 2019.
