Colleagues may be interested to learn we have released a new version of Manage Your Collections with a new a metadata-mapping feature that allows for more flexible uploads.
Manage Your Collections, launched in 2017, allows archive services the opportunity to contribute full catalogue descriptions to Discovery, The National Archives aggregator for UK archival collections, or to update content previously contributed through the Access to Archives (A2A) project.
The metadata-mapper facilitates a one-off process in which archives can map their catalogue field names to Discovery’s, making uploads to Discovery via Excel easier. Archives can upload their own files (.xlsx and .tsv) into the system instead of using the MYC template and it is hoped this new feature will be of benefit to those archives who already have spreadsheets of catalogue data or who have a CMS and can export collections from these as .tsv files.
