Assistant or Associate Professor in Statistics, University of Southern Denmark
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (IMADA) at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), Odense, invites applications for a position in statistics, at the level of assistant or associate professor. The position is expected to start during spring 2019.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in general mathematical statistics combined with advanced computational skills. In particular we intend to hire within one or more of the following areas:
computational statistics,
stochastic processes and Markov chain Monte Carlo methods,
estimation theory.
The successful candidate should preferably have a PhD in statistics, though a PhD in another subject can also be considered if substantial documentation for research output in statistics is provided. Within the statistics group we have expertise in multivariate statistics and missing data, survival analysis, Bayesian inference, extreme value theory and asymptotic statistics. We welcome applicants who are interested in establishing links to the existing lines of research.
