MEDICAL STATISTICIAN

We are looking for a statistician with a background in clinical trials and academic clinical research to join our team and provide support to our growing portfolio of trials across all phases, and academic research strengths, including sleep and circadian rhythms.
The Surrey Clinical Research Centre (CRC) is an MHRA Phase I accredited centre with specific expertise in sleep/wake research. The Surrey Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) is an academic trials unit that has the experience, expertise and infrastructure to design, develop, organise and manage high quality multi-centre, randomised controlled trials. The CRC and CTU are part of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, and are situated on the University Manor Park site close to the main University campus.
In conjunction with the Senior Statistician, the post holder will be responsible for the statistical aspects of the design, analysis and reporting of clinical trials conducted by the CRC and CTU. In addition, the post holder will be expected to provide statistical support to other research areas across the University and contribute to statistical consultancy through the Research Design Service (RDS). As such, the post holder will be expected to interact closely with the Surrey CRC and CTU teams, Director of Sleep/Wake Research at CRC, Principal Investigators, and academics/clinicians within the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine and beyond.
Applicants should hold a PhD or MSc in a relevant area and have experience working as a statistician in the conduct, analysis and interpretation of clinical trials and human research. They should have knowledge of programming in SAS, R or Stata and excellent communication skills.
