Postdoctoral Researcher in biostatistics

Karolinska Institutet, MEB
The Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (MEB) is among the largest departments of epidemiology in Europe with special focus on increasing our knowledge of the aetiology of different diseases. Our department consists of researchers, doctoral students, biostatisticians, data collectors and database administrators as well as administrative personnel, in total some 250 staff. The department is situated at campus Solna. Further information can be found at ki.se/meb 

Division
The position is in the biostatistics group. The primary activities of the biostatistics group include (i) own research in design and analysis of population-based studies, genetic epidemiology and molecular epidemiology, (ii) collaboration with medical researchers, and (iii) biostatistics teaching both at undergraduate and graduate levels.

Duties
The position would suit applicants interested in developing a career in the intersection of biostatistics and epidemiology, in particular those with a commitment to promoting the adoption of new/improved statistical methods by the epidemiology research community. 
The methodological work will be conducted in parallel with various applications in disease epidemiology, using real world data from national registers and publicly-available datasets.

Entry requirements
Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate in biostatistics or statistics no more than three years before the last date of application, the term can be extended under special circumstances. The candidate must have interest in developing novel designs for epidemiological/clinical studies and a strong competence in the use of statistical software and the development of software tools for epidemiologists in Stata and R. 
The applicant should be able to work closely with researchers from different disciplines, be willing to acquire the necessary medical, biological and epidemiological knowledge, and have good communication and writing skills.

A complete list of publications
A summary of current work (no more than one page)
