Dear All,
I thought you may like to see the submission sent by Race Equality
Foundation (REF) and Race on the Agenda (ROTA) to the MHAct Review.

The submission was compiled from outcomes of several consultations,
including an over-subscribed conference held at University of East London on
June 1 attended by nearly 300 people, and ROTA working together with Race
Equality Foundation (REF). It was hard work because of time constraints and
lack of any official funding.
You may not agree on details (e.g. CTOs in my case) but if you support its
general trend-especially a commitment to address institutional racism in
mental health services, please sign your support on the website. At the
very least, our submission indicates the direction of travel that the
Government should take via legislative changes. We hear that Simon is going
'cold' on race (having said earlier that 'race' would be part of his agenda)
and needs public pressure I think if he is to make any positive suggestions.
Best wishes to all.
Suman
