OPEN CALL FOR ‘DEEP TRASH Escoria’
DEADLINE: MONDAY 16 JULY 2018

[see Spanish translation below / versión Española abajo]

CUNTemporary is now accepting proposals for a new episode of ‘Deep Trash’, the unique multi-disciplinary exhibition and performance club night. We accept performances, videos, photographs, installations and written contributions to be shown at ‘DEEP TRASH Escoria’ on Saturday 22 September 2018 at Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club (London, UK).

We are calling for manifestations of queer, feminist, Black, Latinx, Chicanx, indigenous, diasporic or situated lived experiences within the worldwide Spanish-speaking contexts, and of other realities contained within them. The event aims to showcase emergent or recent discourses around sexuality, gender and ‘race’ within Spanish-speaking territories and autonomous communities.

We accept proposals by artists of any artistic background and from any nationality. However, if you have no relations to the cultural contexts mentioned above, we strongly suggest that you justify in your application why you feel like your work belongs to these discourses.

We welcome applications in both English and Spanish. However, we strongly recommend applying in English as our volunteer-led organisation mainly speaks that language. Also, keep in mind that your work will require English speaking audiences to understand your work.

To apply, first make sure that your application relates to the OVERALL THEME of the event. Then, please fill in the form at the link below by Monday 16 July 2018 midnight (UK time).

CONVOCATORIA ABIERTA PARA ‘DEEP TRASH Escoria’
