We invite applications for up to six lectureships, focusing on our existing strengths in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Machine Learning, Data Visualization and Software Reliability & Safety. The appointed candidates will have a PhD in Computer Science, a record of world-leading or internationally excellent research, and experience of providing education in core Computer Science subjects.
The Department of Computer Science has over 480 undergraduate students studying on several MSc and BSc programmes; and over 340 masters and 55 doctoral research students. It conducts research in five Research Centres: Machine Learning; Human-Computer Interaction Design; Software Reliability; Adaptive Computing Systems; and the giCentre. The Department has a long tradition of excellence in education and continuously improves the content of its programmes. The Centre for HCI Design (HCID) based in the Department of Computer Science was originally established over 25 years ago. HCID has a reputation as one of the largest and most successful HCI research groups in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to join existing academic staff in undertaking world-class research and to help shape the future direction of HCID.
