£31, 102 per annum plus benefits (fixed term of 11 months, 36 hours per week)

The Natural History Museum is one of the world’s leading museums, internationally recognised for its dual role as a centre of excellence in scientific research and as a leader in the presentation of natural history through exhibitions, public programmes, publications and the web.
We are currently looking for an archivist to join the Library and Archives team. The purpose of the post is to deliver specific special collections and archives projects. The main projects include:
1. Assist the records administration related to a recent salvage operation, including a collections move and audit
2. Cataloguing of Museum Archives to assist with meeting the "20 year rule” under the Public Records Act
3. Assist the comprehensive review of the Library and Archives photographic collections. This project underpins preparations for digitisation
4. Complete a review of existing lists and carry out an audit of the Museum Trustees Artwork Collection and creation of records on ALMA
