Research Associate in Medical Statistics/Health Technology Assessment/Health Economics

Warwick Evidence is seeking to appoint a Research Associate in Medical Statistics/Health Technology Assessment/Health Economics to contribute to the expanding programme of Health Technology Assessment in Warwick Medical School (WMS). You will support relevant aspects of HTA projects for Warwick Evidence, including specifically the production of multiple technology appraisals (MTAs) and single technology appraisals (STAs) for the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) appraisal process and other research projects. You will work with a multidisciplinary team of information specialists, health economists, modellers, systematic reviewers and clinical experts, appraising clinical and cost-effectiveness evidence for health technologies, including drugs, devices and diagnostics. Work undertaken will directly inform health policy at a national level giving the post-holder experience of the application of evidence synthesis in clinical decision-making, decision modelling and epidemiology.
You will be supported, with protected time and a customised training programme, to assemble a portfolio of publications for a PhD by published work near the end of your contract, or to undertake a PhD part-time alongside your work.
Medical Statistics/Health Technology Assessment
You will contribute to clinical and cost-effectiveness reviewing and advanced evidence synthesis methods (e.g., network meta-analysis). In addition, you will possess specialist expertise in medical statistics for health technology assessment in the NICE context, and have a specialist area of interest of relevance to the ongoing programme of HTA, for example survival analysis.
Health Economics
You will be experienced in supporting economic evaluations: systematic literature reviewing for cost-effectiveness studies; sourcing and assessment of data inputs; formal economic modelling using one or more of the electronic packages accepted by NICE; and report writing coupled with an ability to produce high quality health economic research relevant to the health sciences.
