The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam is recruiting a Statistician (Post-doc) for the development and validation of absolute risk estimation for late effects after radiotherapy against cancer. The work includes the validation of a published (physical) model predicting lung cancer in a large cohort of breast cancer patients. The model will be implemented into guidelines for the selection of patients for proton therapy. The second part involves working with a PhD student to estimate absolute risks for a range of late effects in a large cohort of Hodgkin
lymphoma survivors, separately and in combination.
The post is initially for 2 years and can potentially be extended. The successful candidate will work in the research group of Prof. Flora van Leeuwen ([log in to unmask] , https://www.nki.nl/divisions/psychosocial-research-and-epidemiology/van-leeuwen-fl-group ) and in close collaboration with the biostatistics group of Dr. Michael Hauptmann ([log in to unmask] , https://www.nki.nl/divisions/psychosocial-research-and-epidemiology/hauptmann-m-group ).
Formal training in statistics as well as some experience with absolute risk estimation is required. If you are interested, please send your cover letter and CV before Aug 15 to the e-mail addresses above. Interviews will be held in the second half of August. Costs for interview-related travel can unfortunately not be reimbursed.
Thanks,
Michael Hauptmann
