Thanks everyone for the answers. I actually expected more answers on this question; because this assumption (less angular deviation=easier for brain navigation) seems to be a key one, on which many space syntax discussions based.
Prof Jiang: Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, it's not easy for me to understand what you mean by "Axial space syntax is to do with the underlying living structure"? What does "underlying living structure" mean? I would be thankful if you could please support your argument by referring to academic references (as you always do).
