I have taken a lot out of helpful advice out of this thread - transparency being a key issue - as well as enquiry specific to health circumstance, rather than saying "we need a report".
I just have one final question, having always been in roles where ill health dismissal cases were managed by an OHP. If an employer is actually requesting a report because they are considering an ill health dismissal, can we request this without assessing that employee in a formal attendance management review, i.e. stage 3 final hearing? If it was to later transpire that the report was being commissioned for this reason, and the employee did not know this, then they have not really given valid consent for this. Please correct me if I am wrong though.
