Hey everyone,
I hope you all are doing well. I have a question about sub-sampling in FNIRT. Here is a link to a slide from a set of slides provided by the FSL Course explaining these things:

1) My first question is, what is everything that's happening with the RF image being continuously sub-sampled and the input image doing the same? I am very confused by this whole thing in general. Any clear explanation will help.
2) Also, what does the FLIRT matrix M part mean?
3) What is Ref referring to on top of that image to the left?
4) Finally, with those images to the right, what is happening here? From the 4 to 2 to 1? And what does "yielding these warps" mean?
Thanks so much!
