The Society for Caribbean Studies received the following request from colleagues at LSE:____________________________________________________
I am contacting you regarding a seminar which I co-organise at LSE in the Department of International History. We would love to have more papers on Caribbean history. The seminar welcomes presentations on any aspect of - or approach to – international, global and world history, broadly defined, with a focus on the eighteenth, nineteenth, and twentieth centuries. The seminar is an ideal environment to present research at an early stage and meet LSE faculty members and other graduate students. Please find attached the CFP.

LSE International History Research SeminarCall for Proposals
We are pleased to invite proposals for the Michaelmas term session of next year’s LSE International History Research Seminar (HY509).
The seminar welcomes presentations on any aspect of - or approach to – international, global and world history, broadly defined, with a focus on the eighteenth, nineteenth, and twentieth centuries. The seminar is an ideal environment to present research at an early stage and meet LSE faculty members and other graduate students.
Seminars will be held on Wednesday afternoons between September and December (LSE term time).
The International History Research Seminar is open both to LSE and non- LSE presenters. These include PhD students, postdoctoral researchers as well as visiting and teaching fellows.
Each session will feature two speakers presenting on related topics. Presentations are typically 30 minutes for each speaker, followed by Q&A. Presenters are expected to submit a long abstract (around 1,000 words) ten days before their presentation. The abstract will be circulated among the seminar’s participants beforehand.
Those interested in presenting are invited to complete this form by Friday, 13 July 2018 -> https://goo.gl/forms/3BtwiYgeHJxxqpNZ2. Alternatively, you can submit a provisional title, an abstract (300 words maximum), and a CV (no more than two pages) to [log in to unmask]
We will aim to ensure a balance of doctoral, post-doctoral, and other presenters from LSE and elsewhere. LSE applicants are invited to encourage non-LSE PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, visiting and teaching fellows whom they would like to present with to apply.
Special consideration will be given to abstracts that fit well together and joint applications.
Email [log in to unmask] if you have any questions.X
