Bristol Archives is an Accredited Archive Service and part of Bristol Culture. We care for records spanning ten centuries of the city’s history - Designated as an Outstanding Collection - as well as archives in the British Empire & Commonwealth Collection.
This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive archives professional committed to creating access to collections.
In this busy and varied role, you will lead our searchroom team and take forward digital and other improvements to our public services. As well as overseeing our programme of events and exhibitions, you’ll work to raise our profile with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
Collaborative working is key to this post and you’ll build partnerships within and beyond the public sector, to engage communities with the city’s archives and deliver new work on the collections. You’ll work with colleagues across the Culture team, including museum curators, exhibition staff and the learning, digital, participation and arts and events teams.
You will need a postgraduate qualification in archive administration and relevant professional archives experience. To apply for this post, please demonstrate how you have the knowledge, aptitude and experience detailed in the person specification.
