Job Opportunity at The National Archives
Marketing and Communications Coordinator
Domesday Book. Shakespeare's will. Tweets from Downing Street. War time records. These are just some of the inspiring items amongst the 11 million held by The National Archives. With a collection like this - one of the largest in the world - we want to ensure that we share it with as wide an audience as possible.
Responding to our Archives Inspire business plan, we are increasing our public engagement through an enhanced programme of events, exhibitions and digital outreach. We are also reimagining our public spaces at our Kew site. To support these efforts, we need to ensure our marketing and communications team is running effectively and efficiently.
About the role
Marketing and Communications is a well-established and busy function within the organisation. As Marketing Co-ordinator, you provide support to the Marketing and Communications team (c15 staff) in four key areas: office management, team co-ordination, project co-ordination and administrative support to the Head of Marketing and Communications.
About You
You will be highly organised with good written English. Your confident, diplomatic manner will enable you to provide excellent customer service and administration within the team and across departmental projects. You will have experience in establishing and maintaining procedures and systems for a well ordered team, and be proficient in a range of IT software and processes. An ability to multi-task in a busy office environment is essential, as is experience in a similar team support role.
Join us here in beautiful Kew, just 10 minutes' walk from the Overground and Underground stations, and you can expect an excellent range of benefits, including pension, flexible working and childcare vouchers, as well as discounts with local businesses. We also provide an on-site gym, restaurant, shop, staff bar and wellbeing resources (e.g. on-site therapists).
