Subject: Re: Measurement of Uncertainty
Hi Mary
I don`t have a protocol as such...... the ability to generate data improves year by year so there is not much point in defining it in an SOP.
I produce an annual report to cover all of the point of care services, this contains an account of how the measurement of uncertainty was calculated for each device parameter.
We endeavour to produce uncertainty of measurement for each service at the following levels:
Highest level of proof is a service wide SD which is based on middleware data. All the IQC for a whole month across the whole service. We use UniPOC middleware for glucose and ketone to allow us to produce a service level uncertainty of measurement.
Next level down is the smaller volume devices which are not connected, in these incidences I draw QC data from a single device for a 12 month time frame.
When no other alternative is possible I publish the measurement of uncertainty from the validation of the device. (I try to avoid this if I can).
The report is ratified by the governance group
Hope this helps
Kind Regards

Thank you, Richard. What is your middleware and would you be able to send the procedure to me?

Mary

Dear Mary
Are your glucose/ketone meter connected to middleware?
If they are connected it takes about 5 minutes to do those stats.
I am planning to review measurement of uncertainty annually.

Subject: Measurement of Uncertainty
Dear Mailbase,
With regards Measurement of Uncertainty, do you calculate this for all devices? We have 172 glucose meters,42 ketone meters, 64 urine devices and 23 pregnancy among our devices so would be a massive piece of work. How often is this measurement done?
Kind regards,
Mary
