We are delighted to announce registration for Movements: Protest, Politics and Activism in the 21st Century is LIVE.
The conference takes place throughout the day at Nottingham Contemporary on the 6th July 2018 and consists of ten parallel panel sessions that will take the form of academic panels as well as workshops under the banner of ‘what counts as activism?’. A copy of the provisional conference handbook is available on our website: https://movements2018.wordpress.com/
Professor Anita Biressi (University of Roehampton) will open the conference. Vickie Cooper (Open University) and David Whyte (University of Liverpool), authors of The Violence of Austerity, will close the conference. Sam Fairbairn from The People’s Assembly Against Austerity will be there and the day will end with a short performance on injustice by Bread & Roses and a screening of Austerity Fight. The evening event is brought to you in association with Sharewear Clothing Scheme.
