We have 3 boxes (HPE DL385 with EPYC 7351+256 GB RAM, 32 cores / 64 threads). HepSpec is 750 (sl6/32 bit) for our box.
We had an issues with SL6
Kernel topology is wrong for 16/24 core EPYC cpus which caused SLURM to not run, it’s a trivial fix and is in Centos 7 kernels (a sign that SL6 is reaching end of life).
Legacy BIOS boot issues we weren’t able to PXE boot from PCIe NICs but can from embedded NICs, UEFI boot we can PXE boot from PCIe cards.
I would suggest not to bother for SL6. Go straight to Centos7 on UEFI.
Note: we had to wait >2 months for delivery (an internal HPE issue which they have now solved).
Haven’t yet put it on line but will probable happen this week.

We have an opportunity to pick up a test system with some EOY spend money and we were wondering if they were worth a try?
