Hi All
I worked in aviation medicine for 14years and would say that the only time the employee might have an increased risk of DVT when flying is immediately post op. Otherwise having had VVs carries no higher risk than for anyone else as research shows that it is neither flying nor where you sit in an aircraft but prolonged immobility. This can be exacerbated by things such as dehydration, etc so she should drink plenty of non alcoholic fluids during the flight and get up and move around as much as possible. But in a nutshell legroom isn't an issue.

Hi
In my opinion everyone can get up and move up and down the isle which I am sure would be more beneficial than even sitting in Business class.

I understand there are further VV injections planned for later this year. Travel is long haul but max 4 trips/year. The individual is claiming the Surgeon has recommended travelling business class......I am of the view economy with extra leg room and regular postural changes/exercises during the flight. Would welcome your thoughts.
