We are pleased to inform you that the 4th MOLIM Training School:
"Bridging experiment and theory in precision spectroscopy" (BETS)
will be held in from June 26th till June 30th, 2018 in Torun (Poland).
Website: http://bets-molim.faj.org.pl/
Training School will be devoted to theoretical and experimental
aspects of high precision spectroscopy.
The topics include: spectroscopy of cold atoms and molecules, cavity
enhanced spectroscopy, direct optical frequency spectroscopy,
theory of line shapes, high precision spectroscopy as a tool of
astrochemistry, first-principle rovibrational and electronic structure
computations. The list of trainers and topics:
Tucker Carrington: First-principle rovibrational computations (theory)
Nikku Madhusudhan: High precision spectroscopy as a tool of
astrochemistry (experiment)
Michael Tarbutt: Spectroscopy of cold molecules (experiment)
Piotr ¯uchowski: Spectroscopy of cold molecules (theory)
Mariusz Puchalski: Electronic structure methods for few-electron
systems (theory)
Daniel Lisak: Cavity enhanced spectroscopy (experiment)
Piotr Mas³owski: Direct optical frequency spectroscopy (experiment)
Tamás Szidarovszky: Quantum dynamics with applications in
rovibrational dynamics in external fields (theory)
Maximilian Beyer: High precision spectroscopy of molecular
hydrogen and its ion (experiment)
The Training School will have 5 days of lectures, 5 × 6 hours. The
lectures will be complemented by exercises to provide trainees with
practical insight on selected problems of the different fields covered.
There will be a poster session of the attendees during the school,
followed by extensive discussion of research topics covered by the
trainees.
The registration is open to Master students, Ph.D students, post-docs
and permanent scientist from all European countries.
Affiliation to the COST MOLIM is not required to participate to this
school. The school can welcome up to 35 Europeans trainees and 10 more
students from Torun.
The registration deadline is fixed at May 25th 2018 (in case of
vacancies, submission deadline can be extended)
Participants are expected to arrive on Monday, June 25 (dinner
included), and leave on Sunday, July 1 (breakfast included). Teaching
will take place every day. Social event(s) will be organized during
the Training School.
No advance payments are available. Trainees should pay their
accommodation at the Venue (University Hotel in Torun) and about 1-2
months after the school, they will be reimbursed by the COST Project
Grant
Grant will also cover the travel expenses (up to 250 EUR).
More detailed information will be available on BETS website.
Sincerely Yours,
Dariusz Kedziera
